It’s not every day that you get to meet an athlete who is so close to their olympic goal, they can taste it. Lindsey Torgerson is just that woman. Torgerson competes with Team USA in the Duathlon event, a sport that involves endurance running and cycling. She has only been competing for a little over 3 years and yet she has earned a silver medal in 2012 and bronze in 2013. She is ranked number 6th in the nation for this event. In June, she will be heading to Pontevedra, Spain where she will compete for gold in the ITU Olympic distance World Championship.
I met Lindsey back in March to photo graph her doing her thing. This was a fun shoot for me because it involved both beauty and movement. I love photographing strong women.
I also have to plug Under Armour for a minute. Lindsey had these amazing Speed Form shoes from Under Armour that I just had to get. They are super fun and super comfortable. I am not one to run out and buy something that I’ve seen on someone else, but I adored these shoes. In a few years I may think to my self, why on earth did a rock such bright shoes? But for now, I am going to rock them until they fall apart. 🙂
Most of these photos were taken in a local gym and in the stadium of Johnson C. Smith University. Pretty awesome stadium if you ever need a track field. Or great views of Uptown Charlotte, NC.
Good luck Lindsey on your upcoming race. I can’t wait to hear about your results. 🙂 Go for gold!
