So I finally did it. I finally shot my glamour session…over a month ago but I digress. I finally found the perfect location, a great makeup artist, and the perfect model. I have a glamour Pinterest board full of pretty images that I have wanted to recreate. I planned, styled, and created this entire session.
That fabulous gold glitter dress was a Badgley Mischka from Rent the Runway. Man that thing was glamorous. When Lena put it on, she transformed. She stood taller and carried herself more regally. It was beautiful.
The pink tutu was made by me. It was such a pain in the butt. Designers, kudos to you for being able to create works of art with needle and thread. My stitching was HORRIBLE! Don’t look at it close up because I would totally be kicked off Project Runway in a heartbeat. But to my credit, I haven’t used a machine in 12 years. I found the right circle skirt pattern, I cut all the pieces and I stitched it all together. No someone else better use that darn thing in their session! lol!
The black outfit was all Lena but doesn’t she look like a fierce Mrs. Smith?!
Hair and makeup were by Amy Martinez of Bella MUA. The location was the fantastic Separk Mansion in Gastonia NC. For anyone looking for a well-lit wedding venue or a really cool photo location, this place is it. The mansion has huge windows to let a ton of natural light in. They have several beautiful rooms to get ready in and lets not forget that amazing black and white floor! One of my favorite location hands down.
I have many more sessions like this in store. In a about 2 weeks I’ll be gearing up for a fun Christmas session that has lots of glamour!
