I few months ago I traveled up to Ashville for the first time in my eight years out here in North Carolina. My husband and I had a retreat at the Omni Grove Park Inn. While in Ashville, I immediately fell in love with the area. The downtown was adorable, the Biltmore was gorgeous and the mountains…ah. I am a mountain girl. I love, love, LOVE mountains! So of course I will jump at the opportunity to go back up there!

A few people contacted me for some shoots up in Ashville and I was practically there already! I drove up on Sunday morning and had lunch at the Local Taco with my friend and “assistant for the day” Jenn. I think she and I were in hippy heaven. We ate our lunch and then she took me into some cute little shops that she knew of. I think I spent too much money while I was there!

Then it came time for the photo session. Enter Hannah P. Hannah was a delight to talk to from the moment we met. She knew all of these awesome little nooks and crannies that downtown Ashville has. She first took us to this ally way that had art murals EVERYWHERE! My favorite was this pink sugar skull mural. We also found this gorgeous blue door that matched Hannah’s sundress perfectly. Then she took us to the Galleria. OMG I love old architecture. So pretty. I wish I had taken more images there. We did go into the Malaprops Bookstore. I loved it in there but I unfortunately do not have very good photos of the bookstore.

After our shoot, she told us about this amazing chocolate lounge called French Broad Chocolates. Naturally we went and I am so glad we did. They had such unique chocolates there. I can’t pinpoint my favorite but I give that place 5 stars. It was so good. If you are ever up in Ashville and you have the opportunity to do the food tours, make sure this is one of the stops.
