Fitness: A state of being fit. What does this mean to you? For me, it means getting off of my couch and moving around so that I can have a better life with my son. It means putting down the ice cream and getting myself in the gym more often. It means facing that demon I call running head on. Am I fit? Sadly….no. I not only fell off of the bandwagon, I rolled off of the back, hit the pavement and kept rolling into a ditch. In this ditch I am enjoying fattening ice cream, terribly gluten filled products and highly saturated McDonald’s. Yes, I said it. See that bad word? McDonald’s.
But now after watching the 2013 Crossfit Games, I want to be better. I want to be stronger. Hell, I want abs like those people do. They look like the new cast of 300. My abs are tucked away under 40 lbs of gross, dimpled fat. I am nowhere near 300 status. I am closer to Buddha status. Ommmmmmm. And don’t tell me it’s because I had a kid. Its going on 3 years and this ain’t baby fat no more! This is pure laziness and an addiction to terrible food.
And we turn the page because this isn’t another food bashing blog.
Welcome to part 2 of my Fitness Shoot out. If you remember Amanda in a previous post, then you will enjoy this shoot. Meet Diana. She is helping me with the yoga side of fitness. I met her on the lovely campus of Davidson College. The lighting couldn’t have been better!
